Mutton Bustin’ Registration for the 51st Annual Truckee Pro Rodeo opened on February 1st, 2025 and is now FULL. Click the link to get on the WAITLIST!
Each performance of the rodeo will feature mutton bustin’! To be eligible to participate, you must be between the ages of 4-8 and weigh 55 pounds or less on the day of the ride. We invite up to 20 children per day to participate, and we limit each child to one day of participation each year. Cost $65 per rider.
For those unfamiliar with Mutton Bustin‘, during this event, children are mounted on sheep within the bucking chutes and then released from the chutes to ride the sheep as far as they can. It is great fun and always a fierce competition.
Waitlist: If registration shows full, click the link and register for the waitlist. Once a registration is canceled or a spot opens, it will email the next person. You have one hour to register before it opens to the next waitlisted rider.

Entries are $65 per contestant and are non-refundable.
Each mutton-bustin’ contestant will receive a commemorative t-shirt, one rodeo admission ticket for themselves, and one for a parent/guardian for the day they ride. The winner of the event will receive a prize!
No need to bring helmets unless your child has an “adult” head size. Truckee Pro Rodeo will provide the necessary gear to our riders.
