Welcome to the 3rd Annual TPR Junior Barrel Competition. REGISTRATION WILL OPEN MARCH 1ST, 2026.
Contestants will compete Saturday morning 8/29 after slack around 10:30-11:00 a.m. @McIcver Arena. The top 3-4 riders will have the opportunity to compete in the Truckee Pro Rodeo Saturday Night for a custom Junior Barrel Champion Buckle! ENTRY FEE is $25.

2025 JUNIOR BARREL WINNER: Tegan Rickenbach
Tegan Rickenbach, 15-year-old, born and raised in Truckee. Tegan is a Sophomore at Tahoe Expedition Academy. She has been riding for 11 years. Tegan competes in California High School Rodeo with District 3, where she competes in barrel racing, breakaway roping, goat tying, and pole bending. She has two horses: her three year old Pistol who she is training, and Smoochi,e her trusted barrel and a pole horse. Tegan’s passion for horses started at a young age, with local trail rides at 4 years old. This passion led her to years of hard work and dedication, which culminated in her being the 2024 California Jr. State Pole Bending Champion. Competing and winning the 2025 Junior Barrel Race in front of her hometown is a memory she will cherish! The hard work is far from over, but she looks forward to the journey ahead of her.
