The Truckee Championship Rodeo will be celebrating its 35th year in 2009! 

Each year, the second weekend of August, the Truckee Championship Rodeo draws cowboys and spectators from all over the Western United States. Held in beautiful Truckee, California, 13 miles from Lake Tahoe, McIver Arena plays host to some of the best Rodeo cowboys is America!

Dave Summers and Phyllis Keller present the Truckee High School Football and Basketball teams with their donations for the hard work the teams put in during the 2008 Truckee Championship Rodeo. Special thanks go out also to Cindy Bansen and Anne Graham's Girl Scout troops who also put in the blood, sweat and tears!

Western Week in Truckee starts with Kids Day and Cowboy Poetry followed by Team Penning, Sponsor's Dinner and the Truckee Championship Rodeo.
Saturday night we host a dinner and dance with live music and some of the best food found in Truckee.
This year the Truckee Championship Rodeo was able to give back to the Community which supports the Rodeo. Those who received donations  were the following groups:

The Kids Zone
Sierra Women's Services
Truckee High School Football
Truckee High School Basketball
Truckee Senior Center
Girl Scout Troop 365
Girl Scout Troop 189
Disabled Children
Truckee Donner Junior Horsemen

Total Donations this year were in excess of $4000 and we are proud to have been able to give to these important community groups!
The 2008 Rodeo Committee wishes to thank  our community, sponsors, fans and participants for making 2008 one of our best!
